Universal Orlando launches new ‘Universal Pay’ option on mobile

Universal Orlando Resort pushed out a new update to their official mobile app that includes a new contactless payment option called “Universal Pay.”

This new contactless payment option allows guests to make hands-free purchases in the parks through the Universal Orlando Resort app on their phone.

Universal Pay utilizes whatever credit or debit card you have saved in your Wallet on the app to make purchases, and populates a QR code for team members to scan when buying items.

This option makes budgeting while on vacation even easier for the whole family, thanks to the spending limit option. You can choose to let members of your party have full charging privileges, set a per-day spending limit, or not allow charging privileges at all through Universal Pay.

We tested out Universal Pay on a visit to CityWalk today and while it was valid to use at Universal-owned stores, it doesn’t work at third-party retail locations.

What do you think of this new payment option at Universal Orlando? Is this something you could see yourself using when you visit the parks? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
