Universal Orlando shares seasonal entertainment lineup for the holiday season

Universal Orlando Resort has shared their offerings lineup for the 2020 Holidays celebration, which runs from Nov. 14 through Jan. 3, 2021.

Universal’s annual holiday traditions will come to life in reimagined ways to align with the resort’s current health and safety procedures. Once the festive fun begins, guests can enjoy:

Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley will be dressed in festive decorations, garlands and lights as the sounds of holiday-themed performances fill the air in both lands. Guests can enjoy both magical and Muggle Christmas carols from the Frog Choir, as well as the holiday hits from Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees. There will also be plenty of seasonal treats, holiday fare and beverages, including the return of fan-favorite hot Butterbeer.

Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch and Who-liday Character Appearances at Universal’s Islands of Adventure

It wouldn’t be a holiday celebration at Universal without the mean and green one! Over in Seuss Landing at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, guests can see appearances by The Grinch and the Whos from Whoville.

All-new Universal’s Holiday Experience featuring Macy’s Balloons at Universal Studios Florida

New for this year, guests will be able to get up-close with parade balloons and floats like never before during “Universal’s Holiday Experience featuring Macy’s Balloons.” Guests will encounter elaborate balloons and floats featuring holiday staples like reindeers and the Nutcracker, as well as characters from animated films like “Despicable Me,” “Shrek,” and “Madagascar.” Everything leads up to a special appearance by Santa Claus and the chance to take a socially-distant photo-op with him.

Universal’s Holiday Character Celebration at Universal Studios Florida

During “Universal’s Holiday Character Celebration,” guests can encounter characters from Illumination’s “Despicable Me” and “Minions” films, DreamWorks’ family of Shrek characters and King Julien and the gang from the “Madagascar” franchise. The characters will arrive aboard festive parade floats and perform holiday show moments. Afterward, guests can take socially-distanced selfies with the characters and floats.

  • First-ever Holiday Tribute Store: A brand-new Tribute Store dedicated to all things Holidays will debut at Universal Studios Florida in the New York area of the park. The store will feature four immersive rooms—including one inspired by Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch—and come stocked with a variety of new merchandise and seasonal food items.
  • Holiday Tree Hunt: Guests who purchase the Holiday Tree Hunt will set out on a search for 16 holiday-themed trees scattered throughout various merchandise locations in the parks and CityWalk. Guests will get a brochure that outlines the participating locations where they’ll collect stamps to mark their visit at each stop. Those who successfully complete the hunt will receive an exclusive Holiday Tree Hunt ornament.
  • Holiday Treat Trail: Guests can take part by picking up a complimentary Holiday Treat Trail brochure that lists specialty food and beverage items across select dining venues. Those who purchase all of the items on the list will receive a special sweet treat.
