Walt and Mickey ‘Dream Makers’ statue debuts at Hong Kong Disneyland in October
First announced by Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro at D23 Expo 2022, The Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse Statue – called “Dream Makers” – will debut at Hong Kong Disneyland for Disney’s 100th birthday on Oct. 16, 2023.
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort’s Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse statue will be placed near the Castle of Magical Dreams to celebrate “100 years of dream-making at The Walt Disney Company and Hong Kong Disneyland’s 18th anniversary.”
“We are honored to celebrate 100 years of Disney with the arrival of Walt and Mickey, the dream makers who started it all,” said a statement from Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
Clay maquettes of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse for the “Dream Makers” statue were created by Walt Disney Imagineering sculptors Patrick Simmons (Walt) and Erma Yazzie (Mickey) before being sculpted in full-size from foam by Walt Disney Imagineering Dimensional Designer Scott Goddard.
The Walt and Mickey “Dream Makers” statue will be placed near the park’s Castle of Magical Dreams.
