Waymo in Orlando expands to 120 square miles, adds more attractions
Waymo’s self-driving rideshare service now covers 120 square miles in Orlando, with an expansion adding destinations including Orlando Science Center and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

The expansion, announced Oct. 27, 2026, adds 53 square miles to Waymo’s Orlando service area, nearly doubling its previous coverage. Orlando City Hall is also among the newly accessible destinations, according to the company.
Following a testing period, Waymo officially began servicing Orlando on Feb. 23, 2026. Waymo also added Texas cities Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio to its roster on the same date (see the full list of Waymo cities below).

Waymo partnered with local organizations in each new city “to ensure our service meets the diverse needs of their residents.” In Orlando, that’s Lighthouse Central Florida, an organization for individuals with vision loss.
Attractions Magazine has asked Waymo whether its partnership with Lighthouse Central Florida remains active and requested comment on reports of performance issues involving its vehicles in Orlando shared on social media. We’ll update this article when we receive a response.

Waymo encounters draw attention on social media
Recent social media posts have raised questions about Waymo’s driving around Universal Orlando. One shared recently described issues during a Halloween Horror Nights event night, while another appeared to show a Waymo entering an intersection near Universal before its traffic light turned green.
Attractions Magazine Editor, Dani Meyering, also spotted a Waymo in the International Drive area stopped at a red light nearly two car lengths beyond the stop bar.
