World of Color officially reopens March 1 at Disney California Adventure

After nearly a year of being closed, Disney California Adventure’s signature nighttime lagoon show World of Color will officially reopen at the Disneyland Resort on March 1, 2019, with soft-opening previews starting on Feb. 22.

World of Color, an evening spectacular featuring classic Walt Disney music synchronized to illuminated water fountains, went on hiatus at the Disneyland Resort back in April 2018, when Disney California Adventure’s Paradise Pier closed for renovation. The area reopened last year as Pixar Pier, but World of Color’s refurbishment was extended indefinitely due to accidental damage reportedly inflicted during routine maintenance of the show’s complex equipment.

Now, Disneyland Resort has informed its cast members that World of Color will officially reopen on March 1. Guests at Disney California Adventure will also be able to enjoy soft-opening performances of the lagoon show from Feb. 22 through 28, and reservations are now available for dessert viewing parties beginning on Feb. 23. (World of Color dining packages are not yet available.)
