‘Twisters’ back in 4DX theaters
4DX theaters are once again hosting screenings of “Twisters” in November 2024. Find dates and locations for this viral moviegoing phenomenon.

Ride out the twisters in 4DX
Following its 4DX engagements in summer 2024, Universal Pictures’ “Twisters” movie has returned to select 4DX screens at select Regal and Cineplex theaters nationwide now through Nov. 14, 2024.
4DX screenings of “Twisters” went viral during the film’s initial theatrical run. TikTok users created videos showing themselves before and after seeing “Twisters” in 4DX, often exaggerating the results and appearing disheveled on the other side.
During 4DX movie screenings, audience members wear 3D glasses, the seats move along with the action of the film, and the auditorium emits multi-sensory effects like fog and rain. As one can imagine, “Twisters,” with its sequences of natural disaster-based drama, lends itself particularly well to this format.
“Twisters” is directed by Lee Isaac Chung and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glenn Powell, Anthony Ramos, Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, and Sasha Lane. The 2024 film earned over $80 million domestically during its opening weekend last July.
Attractions Magazine alumnus Banks Lee returned to write our movie review of “Twisters,” being a huge fan of the original and having grown up in tornado alley. Lee called the movie “what summer blockbusters are made for.”
4DX: Know before you go
Like all 4DX screenings, “Twisters” in 4DX require that all audience members be at least 4 years old and at least 42 inches tall.
The company also offers up some tips for an unproblematic time at the movies. It advises audience members to not eat or drink “during intense scenes when the motion chairs will be most active” and recommends thinking ahead “to protect clothing against wind, rain-like condition, bubbles, and strong scents.”
