Bluey Build-A-Bear collection gets the Granny treatment at D23

Build-A-Bear first welcomed Bluey and Bingo to its lineup in 2024, along with their Granny Janet and Granny Rita costumes. Muffin subsequently joined the collection with her own Gladys look.

For D23, Build-A-Bear is advertising an exclusive $50 Bluey bundle. Guests can choose Bluey, Bingo or Muffin and receive the character, a Granny costume and the “Bluey” theme song. While the individual plush characters and costumes are not exclusive to the event, signage specifically identifies the $50 package as an “Exclusive Bluey Bundle Only at D23!”

The Grannies have become recurring fan-favorite alter egos on “Bluey,” beginning with Bluey and Bingo pretending to be Janet and Rita. Muffin later joined the fun as the scooter-riding Gladys in the episode “Granny Mobile.”

Bluey’s real-world presence keeps growing

The D23 display comes amid a major expansion of Bluey experiences beyond the television series.

At Disneyland, “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” is now offered at Fantasyland Theatre, with Bluey and Bingo joined by live performers for games, music and interactive activities. Walt Disney World has Bluey’s Wild World at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where families can play and dance with Bluey and Bingo and encounter Australian animals at Conservation Station.

Disney Cruise Line has also introduced Bluey and Bingo aboard select sailings, with character appearances, games and family activities inspired by the series.

Meanwhile, Build-A-Bear is preparing for a particularly big expansion in Orlando. The company is developing what is billed as the world’s largest Build-A-Bear Workshop at ICON Park on International Drive, with a multi-level experience emphasizing customization and interactive elements.
