Cedar Point has announced that they’ll be adding new dining locations and a summertime street celebration in Frontier Town for 2019.
Bringing a taste of Italy to the park is Hugo’s Italian Kitchen, which will serve traditional Italian fare. Some of the menu’s highlights include hand-made pasta, fresh pizzas baked in a large open-flamed brick oven, chicken parmesan sandwiches, salads, meatball sandwiches, and fresh desserts. Hugo’s Italian Kitchen will be located in the former Midway Market location, adjacent to the Raptor roller coaster.
The other new restaurant, BackBeatQue, will combine live music and smokehouse barbecue into a rock ’n’ roll and Mowtown-inspired eatery. The menu will feature smoked brisket, rotisserie chicken, pork platters, and fresh perch, plus Southern sides like okra, cornbread muffins, and house-made mac & cheese. BackBeatQue will be located by between the Magnum XL-200 roller coaster and the Monster ride.
Cedar Point will turn up the fun this summer with the all-new Frontier Festival – an immersive Old West and sunflower-inspired street festival filled with kids’ crafts, local artisans, games, live entertainment, and plenty of food and beverages to try.
A variety of activities will be available, including:
- Flower Patch – kids can choose their own flower and decorate their own flowerpot to keep it in
- Junkyard Jamboree – guests can make their own music on antique metal items
- Balloon Stampede – kids can stomp on balloons to win prizes
Guests can also enjoy live music from Cedar Point’s Bluegrass Jamboree and other local bands on the Gossip Gulch Stage. In addition, guests can take part in line and square dancing lessons at the Hubbub Hoedown and meet the Frontier Townsfolk for fun photo opportunities.
Frontier Festival will also offer specialty food items made right in the heart of the festival, like two-meat barbecue baked beans, bison chili, pulled pork sliders, fire-roasted chicken drums, smoked wings, toasted sunflower vinegar slaw, smoked brisket, wild strawberry shortcake, peaches & cream, and more.
As for beverages to wash all this food down? Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage samples, including craft brews, ciders, wines, and handcrafted lemonades will be available. Food and beverage tasting cards will be available for a fee.
Frontier Festival will run daily from June 7-30 from 4-10 p.m. To learn more about Cedar Point’s brand-new additions for 2019, visit CedarPoint.com.
