Cedar Point follows Universal’s gamer lead with first Diablo haunted maze

The announcement comes during Diablo’s 30th anniversary and follows Universal’s growing use of video game properties at Halloween Horror Nights.

Diablo will join another licensed horror property at Cedar Point this fall. “The Conjuring: Beyond Fear,” which debuted during HalloWeekends in 2025, is returning for the 2026 event. The interactive experience sends small groups through scenes from The Conjuring Universe as they attempt to return Annabelle to her case.

“Diablo: The Infernal Path” begins after a catastrophic ritual fractures the barrier between worlds and releases ancient evil into Sanctuary, the fictional setting of the Diablo games.

Guests will travel through corrupted pathways and fiery environments while encountering several of the franchise’s most recognizable demons, including The Butcher, Duriel, Baal, Mephisto, Lilith and Diablo.

“For 30 years, Diablo has challenged players to descend into the darkness and face the horrors that haunt Sanctuary,” said Gavian Whishaw, vice president and executive producer of Diablo IV. “Celebrating that milestone by bringing Sanctuary to life at Six Flags feels like a fitting way to mark our anniversary.”

Diablo has reached more than 100 million players worldwide. Its demonic creatures, gothic settings and close-quarters combat also translate naturally into the environments and encounters found inside a haunted maze.

“‘Diablo: The Infernal Path’ delivers an unprecedented opportunity for guests to experience the world of Diablo in a completely new way,” said Kelly Daugherty, Six Flags’ director of entertainment. “The attraction combines the franchise’s legendary demons, dark mythology and intense atmosphere with the immersive scares our guests expect during HalloWeekends.”

HalloWeekends is included with Cedar Point admission or a valid season pass. However, indoor haunted mazes now require a separate Haunted Attractions Pass, currently listed from $19.

“Diablo: The Infernal Path” is included with that maze pass. “The Conjuring: Beyond Fear” requires a separate Screamium ticket starting at $15.

Video games have a longer Halloween history

Universal has used video game properties at Halloween Horror Nights for more than a decade. Silent Hill appeared in Orlando and Hollywood in 2012, followed by Resident Evil in Orlando in 2013. Universal Studios Japan has maintained an especially strong relationship with Resident Evil, including a new “Resident Evil Requiem” maze for 2026.

Outside Universal, Fright Dome at the Adventuredome in Las Vegas created the first official Five Nights at Freddy’s walkthrough attraction in 2016.

More recent attractions have brought gaming properties back to the center of major Halloween lineups. “The Last of Us” came to both U.S. Universal parks in 2023, while Fallout and “Five Nights at Freddy’s” followed in 2025. Fortnitemares continues the progression with a Fortnite-inspired scare zone in 2026.

“Diablo: The Infernal Path” extends the approach into the Six Flags portfolio and places the same gaming franchise at two regional parks. That wider rollout separates it from many earlier video game haunts, which usually appeared at one event or within Universal’s theme park system.

“Diablo: The Infernal Path” will be available during HalloWeekends and requires a Haunted Attractions Pass.
