Meet Walt Disney World’s Newest Pony

Pixie was born on July 11, 2023, at 4 a.m. at Tri-Circle-D Ranch. She joins almost 100 horses under Disney’s care at the ranch, which is part of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Newborn Shetland ponies weigh approximately 35 lbs. By October, Pixie will grow to around 340 lbs., or 75% of her expected full-grown weight of 450 lbs. For now, Pixie is sticking close to her mother, Lady.

Parades In Pixie’s Future

Pixie’s older sister, Lilly, who was born in 2019, is already part of Cinderella’s valiant team of pumpkin-pulling ponies.

Currently, the only production to include Cinderella’s carriage is Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which returns Nov. 9, 2023, as part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.

Other horses pull trolleys daily on Main Street, U.S.A., as well as carriages in various holiday processions.
