By extending their relationship, Disney and the Magic are re-establishing their commitment to support the Central Florida community through ongoing charitable efforts. The relationship dates back to 2010 when Disney became a Champion of the Community sponsor, which led to the official jersey patch in 2017. Disney and the Magic have since worked together on outreach initiatives that benefit the local community, including the Orlando Magic Recreation Centers and sponsorship of the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF) Open golf tournament.

“The Orlando Magic and Disney have much in common, and it’s reflected in our hometown team’s name,” said Jeff Vahle, president of Walt Disney World. The name of the team was originally submitted to the “Orlando Sentinel” in 1986 by readers in reference to the resort. “We are excited to extend this relationship and wish them a great season.”

“The extension represents a continued shared commitment to both the local community and creating magic for fans and guests alike,” said Magic CEO Alex Martins. “As pillars in the Orlando community, we are proud to represent the City of Orlando and all those who call ‘The City Beautiful’ home.”
