DreamWorks’ TrollsFest at Universal Kids Resort brings the music, color and sparkle of the “Trolls” films into a full theme park land with rides, shows, play areas, character encounters and the Troll-ify Me! makeover experience.

If you’re planning a visit, here’s what families should know about TrollsFest at Universal Kids Resort.

DreamWorks’ TrollsFest at Universal Kids Resort characters and rides concepts

DreamWorks’ TrollsFest may look like a glitter-filled dance party, but the Universal Kids Resort land has more than music and meet-and-greets. The land includes Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express, a family roller coaster, along with Hair in the Clouds, live entertainment and interactive spaces designed for kids.

All of the signs throughout TrollsFest are styled to look like Poppy handcrafted each one with her perky personal touches of glitter, decorations and lots of color.

Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express

DreamWorks’ TrollsFest features one of Universal Kids Resort’s two roller coasters. Hop aboard, Rhonda, the armadillo bus from the films “Trolls: World Tour” and “Trolls: Band Together.”

Designed as an approachable first coaster experience, the attraction blends gentle thrills with the colorful spirit of the land.

Height requirement: Minimum Height 36” (92 cm), children under 48″ must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.

Hair in the Clouds

Soar on a mild adventure and climb aboard Sheila B.’s fleet of flower-faced balloons for a whimsical flight above TrollsFest. The attraction offers elevated views of the vibrant land while immersing riders in the playful style and bright colors that define the “Trolls” franchise. During our experience, I found the ride to spin just a tad too fast, and be over too quickly.

Meet Poppy & Friends

Poppy, Branch and other favorite Trolls characters have a small meet-and-greet location. And besides the traditional character greeting, you can see Poppy and Branch in the Trollstastic: Concert Countdown Show.

King Trollex Techno Dance Party

King Trollex brings the beat to TrollsFest with a high-energy dance party featuring a mix of techno, funk and pop music. Kids and grown-ups alike can dance, laugh and let loose in an indoor dance party venue.

My son had a blast at this experience, and it was a highlight for me to see how much fun he had doing all the different dance moves.

Trollstastic: Concert Countdown

This live show is in an amphitheater with shade and plenty of seats. The show is funny, upbeat, with a few moments of audience interaction. Poppy, Branch, Guy Diamond, and even Delta Dawn—a show-stopping character from the “World Tour” movie, take the stage with singing and dancing.

Food and drinks are allowed in the amphitheater, and there is a pizza spot and an ice cream kiosk right next door. So grab something to eat or drink and take a break while being entertained.

Troll-ify Me! Experience

Take the celebration one step further at Troll-ify Me!, a makeover experience that lets guests transform into their own Troll-inspired alter egos. Located next to King Trollex Techno Dance Party, the experience is the ultimate Trolls makeover.

Get Trolled-up with headbands, water resistant face paint, apparel and accessories inspired by characters like Poppy, Branch and Guy Diamond.

Troll-ify Me pricing

  • Premium face paint: $20.99

Trolls-themed play areas

In addition to its rides and entertainment offerings, TrollsFest includes two play areas. Poppy’s Playland is a compact netted climbing structure with colorful stepping platforms where children can explore and burn off energy between attractions.

Adjacent to the climbing area are a few small hands-on interactive play elements positioned at ground level.

The largest play area, and my personal favorite playground in the entire park, is Trolls Critter Crawl. There isn’t any climbing, but there are multiple hands-on activities in this toddler-friendly playground. My favorite moment is the catterbus play station that offers shade and music instrument play elements.
