Earl of Sandwich and Earl of Sandwich Tavern open at Disneyland
Disneyland Resort guests have been on a different kind of roller coaster ride the last few years as the beloved Earl of Sandwich quick-service dining location has closed and re-opened several times, but thankfully, Earl of Sandwich and the new Earl of Sandwich Tavern have officially opened (again) in Downtown Disney.
Earl of Sandwich is serving its signature hot sandwiches, salads, bakery items, and breakfast dishes in a new temporary location just outside the park gates (formerly La Brea Bakery). Along with counter-service, a brand new table service concept – Earl of Sandwich Tavern – is making its official debut.
“We are thrilled to be back, serving ‘the World’s Famous Hot Sandwich’ to our loyal fanbase visiting from across the globe,” said CEO Robert Earl. “The Downtown Disney District has previously been a home for our restaurant family and we are happy to return, this time introducing Earl of Sandwich Tavern to our devoted customers for a full-service dining experience. Now, both guests looking to take their time or grab and go can enjoy our fresh sandwiches, salads and other specialty menu items.”

The popular quick-service dining location serves signature hand-made hot sandwiches made to order with fresh, high-quality ingredients and artisan bread. Sandwiches are sent through a special oven before fresh toppings are added – and even with all the care to make each sandwich to order, Earl of Sandwich says it only takes four minutes from ordering to service.
In addition to sandwiches, Earl of Sandwich also offers wraps, salads, artisan soups, and a selection of desserts baked daily in‐house, plus Randy’s Donuts, a Los Angeles icon since 1952. There is also a large outdoor patio with umbrellas for shade.

The new sit-down restaurant adjacent to the counter-service location serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Tavern also has a full indoor bar serving signature cocktails, wine, beer, and a covered outdoor patio.
The breakfast menu includes croissant french toast, avocado toast, a breakfast burrito, eggs benedict, and a western omelet. For lunch and dinner, signature sandwiches include a gourmet grilled cheese, a turkey club, a Buffalo chicken sandwich, a chimichurri steak sandwich, and a mac-n-cheese burger. Earl of Sandwich Tavern entrees includes sesame ginger salmon, spaghetti and meatballs, fish tacos, fish and chips, chicken fettuccine alfredo, roasted prime rib, and slow-roasted chicken (prime rib only available after 4 p.m.).
One menu item that’s definitely more unique than it appears is the Hollywood Bowl Salad (romaine tossed with thousand island dressing and topped with house-roasted turkey breast, bacon, swiss cheese, hard-boiled egg, avacado, tomato, cucumber, and croutons), which is served in an upside-down clear bowl and dramatically presented table-side.
Starting next week, breakfast will be served from 8-11 a.m.; the lunch and dinner menu is served from 11 a.m. to close. Soon, a new pizza counter in the center section of the restaurant will be available for dine-in and take out.
