First look photos: Universal Kids Resort theme park as seen from our hotel room
FRISCO, Texas — Our first look at Universal Kids Resort didn’t come from inside the gates.
Ahead of Thursday’s media preview, Attractions Magazine checked into the Universal Kids Resort Hotel and immediately headed for our theme park view room. What follows are a series of photos of sweeping views overlooking nearly the entire theme park.

Unlike the sprawling destinations Universal is known for in Orlando and Hollywood, Universal Kids Resort was designed specifically for families with younger children, with colorful lands arranged around a compact, walkable layout.
Universal Kids Resort park map
Using the Universal Kids Resort theme park map provided at check-in, we were able to identify many of the theme park’s lands and themed areas from above, including DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants-themed Bikini Bottom, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, and the Isle of Curiosity featuring Gabby’s Dollhouse.

Photos of rides
Several attractions were visible throughout the afternoon, including Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express coaster making its way around the track, the Jurassic World coaster sending trains through turns and hills, and boats navigating the waterways of Bello Bay Cruise.

The theme park is very walkable and colorful. As a new theme park, all the trees are thin and have a lot of growing to do. We packed hats, water bottles, sunscreen, and quick-dry clothing since the park has multiple splash zones and a big water ride.
During our media preview, we plan to investigate helpful planning information, including in-park features that are helpful for families as well as any Universal fans who plan to visit without kids (yes, it’s allowed). And we’ll provide ride reviews, including a kid’s perspective on all the fun!
