Fun Spot America Atlanta closing—one of Georgia’s biggest coasters in limbo
Fun Spot America has announced it will permanently close its Atlanta theme park in Fayetteville, Georgia, with the final day of operation scheduled for Aug. 2, 2026.

The announcement marks the end of nearly a decade of Fun Spot America’s presence in Georgia and leaves the future of the park’s signature attraction, ArieForce One, unanswered.
“This was an extremely difficult decision,” Fun Spot America Chief Executive Officer John Arie Jr. said in a statement. “Our Atlanta team has poured their hearts into serving our guests and creating a place where families could have fun together. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and for the support we have received from the Fayetteville community.”
Air Force One’s future remains unknown
The biggest question following the announcement surrounds ArieForce One, the Rocky Mountain Construction roller coaster that opened in 2023. The steel coaster quickly became the park’s signature attraction, featuring a 154-foot lift hill, an 83-degree first drop, a top speed of 64 mph and four inversions. It has earned praise from coaster enthusiasts and is frequently ranked among Rocky Mountain Construction’s top creations.

Fun Spot America’s announcement did not address whether ArieForce One will remain at the property, be relocated, or be sold. The park also features Hurricane, Samson go-karts, family rides, arcade games and other attractions.

What guests need to know
Normal daily operations will continue from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Aug. 2. Season Passes and gift cards will remain valid at the Atlanta park until it closes and will continue to be honored at Fun Spot America’s Orlando and Kissimmee locations.
The company said additional information regarding group events, field trips and existing reservations will be shared with affected guests in the coming weeks.
Fun Spot America will continue operating its Orlando and Kissimmee parks.
“We are proud of the memories created in Atlanta and grateful to everyone who has been part of this chapter of our story,” Arie said.
Originally opened as Dixieland Fun Park, the Fayetteville property was acquired by Fun Spot America in 2017 before receiving several additions, including the debut of Air Force One in 2023.
