The opening date for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park has been revealed!

Guests will be able to experience a brand-new planet in a galaxy far, far away starting May 31, 2019 when the new land opens at Disneyland park, and Aug. 29, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney guests will travel through the corridors of a Star Destroyer on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Both versions of the land will not open with the attraction “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance,” and will open solely with “Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run” as a “Phase 1” of the land. Phase 2 will include Rise of the Resistance, which will open in both parks later in the year.

Height requirements for both rides were also released. At Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, guests must be 38 inches or taller to ride. Once it opens, guests must be 40 inches or taller to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Guests planning to visit Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland between May 31 and June 23, 2019 will need to have valid theme park admission and will be required to make a no-cost reservation, subject to availability, to enter the land. Information on this requirement will be available at a later date. Guests visiting Walt Disney World’s version of the land will not have to do this.

Guests staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels during these dates will receive a designated reservation to access Galaxy’s Edge during their stay (one reservation per registered guest).

Capacity at the land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be limited. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be part of Extra Magic Hours at Walt Disney World, but will not be included in any Extra Magic Hours or Morning Magic events at Disneyland park.
