Hasbro’s $600 Ultimate Grogu animatronic puts a Galaxy’s Edge-level prop in fans’ homes
Hasbro is taking pre-orders on a $599.99 life-size Grogu animatronic that responds to touch, motion, and sound, with the Star Wars Ultimate Grogu unveiled on Hasbro Pulse the week of Star Wars Day 2026.

The 14.6-inch figure features more than 250 animations and sounds, including blinking eyes, ear movement, “toddling” first steps, and Force gestures. Hasbro announced it on April 30, 2026, ahead of Star Wars Day on Monday, May 4.
Pre-orders are open at Hasbro Pulse, with shipping listed for approximately April 1, 2027. For emphasis, that’s just under one year from now.

What the Ultimate Grogu does
According to Hasbro’s product description, the Ultimate Grogu features 18 points of motorized articulation, four motors, multiple touch sensors, microphones, and an accelerometer that enable it to react to its environment. The product page states that Grogu “tilts his head toward you when you talk and squeals at sharp noises.”
The animatronic operates in three modes:
- Explore (full sensor reactivity)
- Grab & Go (quieter mode for cosplay paired with a Mandalorian costume)
- Display (cycle through poses by tapping head and hand sensors).
Screen-accurate details include a fabric robe, chainmail, satchel, beskar rondel, soft skin, and rooted hair. Two accessories ship with the figure: a cookie that triggers eating and burping sounds, and a grav charge with light and sound effects. Power is provided by four D-cell batteries (not included) or a USB-C cable.

Who should buy it?
The Ultimate Grogu is targeted at adult Star Wars collectors, professional cosplayers, or theme park fans who want to bring some of the Grogu magic home. The price matches Robosen’s $599 Buzz Lightyear robot from 2024.
The pre-order window also lines up with the May 22, 2026, theatrical release of “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” the first Star Wars feature film since 2019. Besides a full line-up of movie theatre merchandise for “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” there are plenty of merchandise items in a variety of price points to satisfy fans of different tastes and budgets.
For the theme park audience, the figure offers a way to bring an animatronic-class Star Wars character home, with the chainmail and beskar rondel details Galaxy’s Edge guests otherwise only see on the walkaround puppet at Black Spire Outpost.
Where to get it
The Star Wars Ultimate Grogu is available for pre-order at HasbroPulse.com for $599.99. A Collector’s Edition is also listed, with limited quantities shipping in late 2026. The standard edition ships in early 2027.

Inspired by Galaxy’s Edge
Guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at either Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., or Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., may be familiar with the charm of a Grogu animatronic.
The Mandalorian and Grogu have appeared as a meet-and-greet character pair at Black Spire Outpost since 2023, with Grogu presented as a puppet carried by the Mandalorian performer. The pair have captivated fans and inspired countless cosplayers and reactions.
Disneyland’s Black Spire Outpost also shifted on April 29, 2026, to an expanded timeline, incorporating original trilogy and Mandalorian-era characters, with The Mandalorian and Grogu part of the marketplace’s character visitors.
