4 Six Flags parks removing surcharge for haunted houses at Halloween events
Haunted houses will be included with park admission for the rest of the Halloween season at four Six Flags (formerly Cedar Fair) theme parks.

The following parks will not charge separate admission for its haunted houses for the remainder of the 2025 season:
- Dorney Park near Philadelphia, Penn.
- Kings Dominion in Doswell, Va.
- Valleyfair near Minneapolis, Minn.
- Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo.
With this change, guests at these parks will save $10-$30 per visit (depending on the night) by not having to pay extra for haunted houses.
Earlier this season, these parks introduced a Haunted Attractions Pass, an add-on ticket option on top of regular park admission to the respective parks’ Halloween events.
“We regularly review and revise policies and programs to provide the best possible experience for our guests,” a Six Flags spokesperson told Attractions Magazine. “Due to demand and the typical wait times for our haunted mazes, we are able to increase volume at select parks while other parks will maintain this premium experience for our guests.”
The Haunted Attractions Pass will remain in place at other Six Flags parks that introduced the pass.

Various Six Flags parks (including former Cedar Fair parks) have operated their Halloween events differently over the years, sometimes treating them as separately ticketed events and other times including them with regular daytime admission.
Six Flags parks Carowinds, Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Canada’s Wonderland all debuted “The Conjuring: Beyond Fear” this year, a “screamium” attraction charging admission on top of park admission and separate from the Haunted Attractions Pass.
