Hershey’s Chocolate World adds new trolley, character breakfast and more
Guests can visit Hershey’s Chocolate World this summer for the first new trolley in 20 years, patriotic America250 celebrations, and the new Breakfast with Hersh and Friends.

From a long-awaited trolley revival to America’s 250th birthday celebrations, the Home of the Great American Chocolate Bar is making this its sweetest summer yet. If there was ever a summer vacation season to make a detour to Hershey, Pennsylvania, this is it.
Hershey’s Chocolate World is rolling out a lineup of first-ever experiences with patriotic nods and brand-new sweet treats. These look to be accompanied by the charm that’s kept this attraction drawing guests since 1973.
Whether you’re road-tripping to catch matches at one of the nearby World Cup host cities (New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia) or simply seeking a classic getaway, Hershey’s Chocolate World offers a satisfying stop and perhaps many reasons to stay awhile.
First-ever offerings debuting this summer at Hershey’s Chocolate World

Summer Family Trolley
The first new trolley in more than 20 years has returned. It is fully re-mechanized, with interactive storytelling, sing-alongs, and sweet treats. Guests can hop aboard for a journey through Hershey that brings Milton Hershey’s story to life, featuring memorable characters along the way. This runs through Monday, September 7, 2026.
Breakfast with Hersh and Friends
For the first time ever, all seven Hershey characters, Hersh, Reese, Kiss, Twizz, Jolly Rancher, Ice Breaker, and Kit Kat, will appear together in one place. Fans can enjoy a hot breakfast buffet, a DJ dance party, a Hershey’s Kisses scavenger hunt, and exclusive pre-opening shopping with 20% off.
Tickets for this breakfast cost $39.95 adults / $25.95 children. The Breakfast with Hersh and Friends experience runs Saturday and Sunday mornings, 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., on June 20, 21, 27, and 28. It’s a limited-run event, so Hershey’s Chocolate World suggests guests purchase their tickets early.
Celebrating America’s 250th birthday
Hershey’s Chocolate World is weaving several America250 celebrations into this attraction for the summer. These range from a reimagined ride to a custom Liberty Bell on the grounds.
Great American Chocolate Bar Tour Ride (May 22 – Sept. 7)

The free Chocolate Tour Ride gets a patriotic summer overlay, featuring a reimagined version of the original “Hershey’s Great American Chocolate Bar” theme song and Americana-inspired décor in the Barnyard scene.
Bells across PA Liberty Bell (On display through December 2026)

A custom Liberty Bell celebrating Dauphin County’s rich heritage, from its agricultural roots to its role in Pennsylvania tourism, will be on display as part of the statewide America250 PA program through December 2026.
An America250 celebration needs food and beverages

Hershey’s Chocolate World claims guests can taste Americana right on the menu, too. For example, the new Hershey’s S’mores Pie features house-made chocolate ganache in a graham cracker crust, crowned with whipped cream, mini marshmallows, and a Hershey’s chocolate pip. This sounds like a dessert befitting the America250 celebration.
For a more low-key option, Hershey’s Chocolate World offers the Red, White, and Berry Parfait. It contains layers of yogurt, strawberry and blueberry purées, and fresh berries. This could make for a lighter patriotic option for warm summer afternoons.
Hershey’s Chocolate World will also offer a few more beverages to cool things down this summer. These include:
- Frozen Hershey’s Melted Hot Chocolate – A chilled, blended take on the classic, topped with whipped cream and chocolate pips
- Cotton Candy Milkshake – Inspired by Bubble Yum, vanilla ice cream blended with cotton candy flavor and topped with real cotton candy
- Mixed Berry Mojito (21+) – Jolly Rancher-inspired: mint, berries, white rum, and freeze-dried Jolly Rancher pieces. A mocktail version is also available.
“This summer, we’re giving families even more reasons to pull over and stay awhile at the Home of The Great American Chocolate Bar.” — Laura Renaud, senior marketing manager, The Hershey Company

Hershey’s Chocolate World and Hersheypark
While they are often mentioned in the same breath, Hershey’s Chocolate World and Hersheypark are actually two separate entities owned by different divisions. They are part of what makes the Hershey, PA area a great option for a summer vacation near a theme park.
Like Hershey’s Chocolate World, Hersheypark is celebrating America250 with new shows, overlays, entertainment, food and beverage options, and live music.
Still, Hershey’s Chocolate World is the official visitor center for The Hershey Company, while Hersheypark is a world-class theme park owned by Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. Despite the separate ownership, they sit right next door to one another, forming the heart of a “Sweetest Place on Earth” vacation. The two operations share a large entrance complex, making it easy to navigate from the chocolate factory experience directly to the theme park gates.
Since Hershey’s Chocolate World is open year-round and offers free admission (including the Chocolate Tour ride), it serves as the perfect “welcome center” for the resort.
