How to join the Lego Pokémon virtual queue at Legoland Florida — and is it worth it?

Lego Pokémon has arrived at Legoland Florida Resort as part of Lego Festival, but guests cannot simply walk into its primary interactive experience. The Lego Pokémon Trainer Center uses a virtual queue accessed through the Legoland Florida app. Here’s how it works and our quick review of experiencing it with an eight-year-old Pokémon fan.

We experienced the new Trainer Center during a hosted media day and found that joining the queue was easier than we expected. Here’s how it works.

How to enter the Lego Pokémon virtual queue

Two words can strike fear into the heart of theme park fans: virtual queue. Thoughts of missing out on a desired experience because of virtual queue technicalities instantly flooded my mind when I learned that the Pokémon Training Center experience at Legoland Florida uses such a process. Thankfully, it was fairly simple.

After entering Legoland Florida, open the official park app and follow these steps:

  1. Select “Wait Times” at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Find “Lego Pokémon Trainer Center.”
  3. Open the experience and tap “Join Line.”
  4. Wait for the app to indicate that it is your turn.
  5. Select “View Boarding Pass” and present it at the entrance.

We joined around 1:15 p.m. and were called back approximately five minutes later. Availability and return times may vary throughout the day, so check the app early if this experience is a priority.

The Trainer Center operates from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the hours displayed in the app during our visit. And it seems that the time slots from 1:30 p.m. onward may require less waiting.

What happens inside the Lego Pokémon Trainer Center?

The experience lasts approximately 15 minutes and takes guests through five small activity centers or stops. Families choose from Pikachu, Eevee, Squirtle, Charmander or Bulbasaur before using Lego Smart Play technology to train and battle with their Pokémon.

The technology is fun, but the social element is the experience’s greatest strength. We loved watching enthusiastic Pokémon fans play together, with children interacting and battling alongside one another.

Despite all that excitement, the environment remained respectful and orderly during our visit. We did not see anyone struggling with the format or having a difficult time participating.

Is Lego Pokémon worth a trip to Legoland Florida?

We stayed at Legoland Pirate Island Hotel the night before, so we woke up rested and ready for the day rather than driving approximately 90 minutes to reach the park early in the morning.

Even if we had needed to make the drive, however, I still think it would have been worth it for my son. The Trainer Center lasts only about 15 minutes, but its value came from giving him a hands-on role in a world he loves.

Lego Pokémon was not the only part of the festival that connected with our family. My husband is a Formula 1 fan, so he especially enjoyed the F1 activities in the Thrill Zone. We also had great fun completing the pit crew challenge together.

I am not much of a traditional Lego builder, which made the pit crew activity particularly appealing to me. Working with its larger elements was much more my speed and demonstrated how Lego Festival offers ways to participate beyond sitting down to build.

Now in its second year, Lego Festival feels as though it is evolving—much like Pokémon—and becoming even better. Different activities spoke to different members of our family.

The virtual queue itself required very little effort, especially because we could continue exploring instead of waiting in a traditional line. I believe the Trainer Center is worth making a priority. Combined with the expanded Lego Festival, it could also be worth the trip to Legoland Florida.

Lego Pokémon is available during Lego Festival at Legoland Florida through Aug. 16, 2026. Read our guide to Lego Pokémon and Lego Festival for more information. And watch our video below for some of the highlights.
