Janelle Monáe as E.T. + ‘Today’ show anchors and Kelly & Mark wear Disney and Universal Halloween costumes
Janelle Monáe (as E.T.!), the “Today” show anchors, and the crew from “Live with Kelly & Mark” revealed Disney- and Universal-inspired Halloween costumes.

Halloween costumes can be serious business, and a few celebrities went all-out with their Halloween costumes this year, inspired by characters familiar to fans of Disney and Universal theme parks and movies.
For starters, Janelle Monáe was E.T. for Halloween, appearing on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” as the extra-terrestrial, complete with a costume with blinking eyes and a glowing red heart.

Keeping with tradition, the “Today” show anchors dressed up in Halloween costumes for their Oct. 31, 2024 broadcast. Dylan Dreyer was Lydia Deetz and Al Roker was Beetlejuice. (While “Beetlejuice” is a Warner Bros. film, its presence at Universal parks over the years merits its costumes a mention.)

“Live with Kelly & Mark” also celebrates big on Halloween, with multiple costume changes. For 2024’s show, hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, producer Michael Gelman, and announcer Deja Vu donned Halloween costumes inspired by “Beetlejuice,” “Inside Out 2,” and “Only Murders in the Building.” Ripa and Consuelos also appeared as Ladypool and Deadpool, respectively, joined by Joey Fatone as Wolverine.

Clearly, the release of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” brought the Michael Keaton character front of mind to many folks choosing their Halloween costumes this year. When Keaton hosted “Saturday Night Live” earlier this month, “SNL” cast member Mikey Day and former cast member Andy Samberg also appeared in costume. Both have spoken publicly at length about trying to portray Beetlejuice on “SNL” for years; they finally got their wish.
