Legoland Florida Resort shares new details on upcoming Masters of Flight attraction
Legoland Florida Resort shared exciting new details about their latest expansion, The Lego Movie World, and its main attraction, Masters of Flight at IAAPA 2018.
This all-new expansion will feature three attractions, all inspired by the themes and characters of “The Lego Movie” and the upcoming film, “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.”
New details on the main attraction, The Lego Movie Masters of Flight, were shared at IAAPA 2018, including a model of the flying theater attraction made entirely out of Legos.
“The Lego Movie World is the ultimate destination for fans of the films and the only place where guests can step into The Lego Movie universe,” said Keith Carr, project director of Merlin Magic Making, the global creative division of Merlin Entertainments Group. “We are confident this will be an incomparable and unforgettable escape that the whole family will want to experience again and again and every seat will offer an amazing view as wind, mist, and scent fully engage the rider’s senses.”
Masters of Flight will take guests on a suspended ride aboard Emmet’s Triple-Decker Couch surrounded by a full-dome virtual screen, giving them the sensation of flying. This will be the first attraction in the world at a major theme park that includes a 180-degree turn in the ride experience.
The ride’s animation will feature a humorous adventure that takes guests through Cloud Cuckoo Land, diving into Middle Zealand, and splashing into the waters of Pirate’s Cove. Many of the stars from “The Lego Movie” films have lent their voices to the attraction, including Nick Offerman, who channels his inner Metalbeard to lead the charge on the invading pirates.
The Lego Movie World will also feature two other family-friendly attractions, Unikitty’s Disco Drop and Battle of Bricksburg. The new land will also host Emmet’s Super Suite, a character meet-and-greet area where guests can hang out with Emmet and all his friends; the Taco Tuesday Everyday eatery; The Awesome Shop, a merchandise location; and a space-themed playground area inspired by Benny’s spaceship with fun photo-ops.
