The London Eye is turning 20 years old this month, and the iconic observation wheel is celebrating the milestone by temporarily transforming 20 of its passenger pods into unique immersive experiences.
To celebrate its landmark 20th birthday on March 9, 2020, the London Eye is hosting the “ultimate party” that includes a range of immersive experiences.
From March 6th through 9th, twenty of the London Eye’s passenger pods are being taken over with unique immersive experiences celebrating the culture, arts and entertainment of London.
Advance bookings are required, and several of the birthday experiences are already sold out, including the “ultimate kids birthday party” with balloons and face-painting; a Royal Parks tea party; a round of pints in a classic British pub; and a Disco in the Sky.
London Eye 20th birthday experiences that still available include a royal throne with the Madame Tussauds Queen Elizabeth figure to take selfies with; a sunrise yoga class; and a “fancy flight” with champagne and canapes.
One of the pods features an original design by street artist Ben Eine, and cannot be reserved but can only be experienced as a random surprise.
All proceeds from the London Eye 20th birthday celebration will be donated to Merlin’s Magic Wand. Merlin’s Magic Wand is a global children’s charity that makes the magic of Merlin Entertainments attractions accessible to children facing challenges of serious illness, disability or adversity.
