The thrill ride takes 30 riders soaring 240 feet above Oktoberfest before spinning and rapidly dropping. In a statement on their website, Busch Gardens indicated that guest experience was part of the consideration to close the ride:

Since opening at Busch Gardens in 2011, Mäch Tower has thrilled riders for over a decade. After review and consideration of overall guest satisfaction, we have made the decision to close Mäch Tower permanently. Now through January 8, we invite you to drop in for one more ride on this spiraling drop tower (ride availability subject to change).

We will be keeping an eye out for announcements about updates to the Oktoberfest section of this beautiful park, including the upcoming DarKoaster – North America’s first all-indoor straddle coaster – opening in 2023.
