Halloween Horror Nights Orlando haunted house reveal: Major Sweets Candy Factory
Universal Orlando has announced a third Halloween Horror Nights 2024 haunted house: Major Sweets Candy Factory, continuing a story from a previous scare zone.

Major Sweets Candy Factory
Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) will return to Universal Studios Florida at Universal Orlando Resort select nights Aug. 30 – Nov. 3, 2024. This morning, Universal revealed Major Sweets Candy Factory as the the third of 10 haunted houses that guests can experience at this year’s event, nicknamed HHN33.

Universal teased the backstory of Major Sweets Candy Factory on social media by saying, “You’ve been invited to chaperone a field trip to a candy factory. The deadly delicious treats turn the kids into sugar-fueled fiends.”
Major Sweets Candy Factory will extend a story that began in 2022 at HHN31. During that year’s event, a scare zone called Sweet Revenge featured original characters Major Sweets (pictured in the HHN33 haunted house logo below) and Miss Treats. In 2022, Universal described Sweet Revenge this way: “Set against the backdrop of a 1950s movie theater, a family tragedy turns a young boy’s sweet demeanor to bitter vengeance. The price of admission for this showing? Your life.”

If the newly released artwork is any indication, Major Sweets will again don an ornament shaped like Lil’ Boo in his top hat, as he did in Sweet Revenge.

Incidentally (or not?), the license plate of Major Sweets’ truck in the previous scare zone read, “SW33TS,” as seen in the X post below by HHNstagram. Foreshadowing his return for HHN33, or just coincidence?
Universal detailed more of the lore behind Sweet Revenge in a 2022 episode of the Discover Universal Podcast.
HHN33 Haunted Houses: 3 Down, 7 to Go
This makes three HHN33 haunted house announcements in one week, following the previous news of Slaughter Sinema 2 and Goblin’s Feast. All three houses announced so far are stories original to Universal Creative, not based on existing horror franchises.

Note that dates and details for the west-coast counterpart of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood have not yet been announced at the time of this writing.
