New soundtrack for ‘Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade,’ first time since 2007
“Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade” introduced a new music soundtrack for the first time since 2007 at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.
A new soundtrack has debuted at “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.” This marks a major change for the parade, as the procession has had the same soundtrack since its debut in 2007. Fans of the previous soundtrack needn’t worry, though; the parade floats themselves remain largely the same, and its main “Once Upon a Christmastime” theme is still the basis of the soundtrack.
The parade is performed during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, taking place select nights at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom near Orlando, Fla. from Nov. 8 – Dec. 20, 2024.
Throughout the parade, the classic “Once Upon a Christmastime” song weaves in and out of different songs in each of the parade’s segments:
Mickey & Friends unit: “From All of Us to All of You,” a song from a vintage Disney television special of the same name
“Frozen” unit: “That Time of Year” from “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure”
Candy unit: “Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies” from the Nutcracker Suite
Princess unit: Portion of the Nutcracker Suite and “The Holly and the Ivy”
North Pole unit: Portion of the Nutcracker Suite, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and “Up on the Housetop”
Other noteworthy points of this year’s “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade”
- The Fairy Godmother’s dialogue is the same track as before, despite the music being different. This is especially poignant since her voice was performed by Russi Taylor, who passed away in 2019 and was also the voice of Minnie Mouse
- Mickey and Minnie have new dialogue tracks, but some of their lines are the same as before. This may be the first parade to feature Kaitlyn Roblock as the voice of Minnie. Roblock has provided Minnie’s voice since 2019.
- Goofy’s dialogue is the same track as before, despite the music being different.
