New Year’s Eve 2022 events coming to Universal Orlando Resort

by Attractions Magazine Staff

New Year’s Eve will be filled with music and fun at Universal Orlando, closing out 2022. Two different areas of Universal Orlando will host New Year’s Eve festivities. Universal CityWalk and Universal Studios Florida will allow guests to ring in 2023 on the evening of Dec. 31, 2022.

Guests visiting Universal Studios Florida theme park on New Year’s Eve can enjoy a high-energy band, live DJ, special appearances by characters and more – all culminating with a countdown and brief pyrotechnics display at midnight. Festivities are included in regular admission to the park and will take place from 6:15 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Music Plaza area.

A large sign in CityWalk recently appeared indicating some New Year’s Eve festivities would also happen there for New Year’s Eve. According to the sign, CityWalk’s festivities run from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Dec. 31/Jan. 1.

The CityWalk festivities will include live music on the waterfront stage by Crenshaw Duo. A DJ will also be providing music in the promenade area all evening. Special menu items will be sold at various food and beverage venues.

CityWalk’s New Year’s Eve event will have a special midnight celebration in the plaza and promenade areas. Since the New Year’s Eve celebration inside Universal Studios Florida will involve limited pyrotechnics, we don’t know about any additional end-of-year fireworks being part of CityWalk’s midnight festivities. Still, except for food and drink expenses, this won’t be a special paid event like the “EVE” event held in previous years, and being held this year at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The New Year’s Eve festivities within Universal Studios Florida will have an end-of-year celebration inside Universal Studios Florida, similar to the July 4 gala held earlier this year.

Will you be attending one of these events? What do you think of having an event in theme parks and one in CityWalk on Dec. 31? Let us know in the comments below.
