NextGen Showcase can kickstart your themed entertainment career
Have you ever thought about a career in the themed entertainment industry? If so, you’re in luck, because the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) Europe & Middle East Division is launching NextGen Showcase, a free initiative to educate and inspire the next generation of themed entertainment professionals.
TEA is a non-profit organization that brings together immersive destinations and experiences creators to “share knowledge, collaborate, spark new ideas, celebrate innovation, and cultivate a diverse global membership.”
TEA’s NextGen Showcase is a unique, 10-month, free program during which participants work in teams to create an all-new attraction concept while being mentored by some of the most influential people in themed entertainment. This valuable networking opportunity allows participants to work in various areas, including concept design, engineering, creative writing, architecture, and project management.
“Alex Korting and I initiated the first NextGen Project at SATE 2018, hoping to supplement the theoretical knowledge NextGens were gaining in education with some real-world experience,” explained organizer of the 2018 NextGen Project, Laura Marakowits. “Not only did participants get hands-on project experience, they also created a network of colleagues and friends that will last a lifetime. Most impressively, their commitment to the project and experience received has also resulted in paid work for all of the participants.”
The NextGen Showcase judging panel includes the following leaders in themed entertainment:

- Amanda Thompson OBE – Blackpool Pleasure Beach
This educational program is intended for those interested in joining the themed entertainment industry and participants are expected to commit a minimum of one-two hours per week. Applicants must be over 18 years of age and will be asked to provide a CV/resume after signing up.
