Aquatica San Antonio has announced a new attraction that will satisfy guests’ need for speed — Riptide Race, coming in 2022.
Starting atop a 51-foot tower, riders will grab a two-person raft and take their marks with their partner before plunging toward victory. Riptide Race — which is also present at Aquatica Orlando — features dueling side-by-side flumes and low walls to offer each guest a full view of their competition. Guests can challenge one another while navigating tight loops and turns, adrenaline-pumpking drops, and accelerations through indoor and outdoor sections of slide — coming in at a total of nearly 565 feet in length!
“The addition of Riptide Race will give thrill seeking guests another exciting reason to visit Aquatica,” said Byron Surrett, park president of SeaWorld and Aquatica. “We’re committed to providing our guests with new experiences at our parks. Riptide Race is the third new high-speed water ride in as many years as it gives guests one more heart-pounding ride to experience again and again.”
This first-of-its-kind slide in San Antonio will have a height requirement of 42 inches, meaning that families will be able to go head-to-head and race one another.
The new thrill slide will make its debut in March 2022. For more information, visit Aquatica.com/San-Antonio.
