Select SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks are becoming cashless

Summer 2023 is bringing new offerings at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks in the United States, but along with new rides, events, and shows comes a new park policy: cashless transactions.

SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parking are going Cashless, no cash options for transactions.

Cashless options take place as of this summer at major SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks. SeaWorld San Antonio and Busch Gardens Williamsburg will both be transitioning to cashless operations this May. That will leave only SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay as locations accepting cash at the major U.S.-based SeaWorld Entertainment parks. SeaWorld San Diego is already operating cashless.

SeaWorld San Antontio’s cashless operations begin today, May 4, 2023. The park will accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa credit cards and most debit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Cash-to-Card kiosks are available throughout the park where guests can transfer cash to a Visa prepaid debit card free of charge.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg will begin cashless operations May 11, 2023. Busch Gardens Williamsburg accepts American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa credit cards and most debit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Cash-to-Card kiosks are available throughout the park where guests can transfer cash to a Visa prepaid debit card free of charge.

Aquatica at SeaWorld Orlando already offers a cashless wristband option, but, Aquatica Orlando does not yet require cashless operations. Did you see? Disney Cruise Line has announced usage of new interactive DisneyBand+ wristbands for their ships (which can pay for items and unlock your room).


SeaWorld Entertainment parks are not alone. Knott’s Berry Farm began cashless operations last year, joining a growing wave of travel destinations avoiding cash and change. Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Lodge went cashless in 2018.
