Six Flags Great Adventure brings back ‘Dead Man’s Party’ for Fright Fest 2026
Six Flags Great Adventure is bringing back its long-running Halloween stage show “Dead Man’s Party” for the 2026 Fright Fest season. The Jackson, N.J., park announced the return on April 30, 2026. As theme park and amusement park fans get ready for spooky season, let’s take a look at what makes this show something special.

While big productions like Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights steal the spotlight during Halloween time, the regional parks and amusement parks of the U.S. bring spooky entertainment to the masses. Six Flags shared the news on its official blog and on the Six Flags Great Adventure Facebook page, where the announcement reel quickly filled with comments from longtime guests welcoming the show back.
About Dead Man’s Party
“Dead Man’s Party” has been part of Fright Fest since 1999, but the show was not part of the 2025 Fright Fest lineup. This year is the first appearance after a one-year absence, which may not seem like much, but Halloween fans are a passionate bunch.
Hosted by the character Dr. Fright and a cast of “undead friends,” the production combines live music, choreography, and pyrotechnic effects. Six Flags describes it as a “rock concert-meets-Broadway-style spectacle” designed to be more fun than frightening, which has historically given it appeal beyond Fright Fest’s haunted houses and scare zones, including for families and casual guests.
According to the announcement, the show has also been a meaningful career step for performers. “It also became a coveted role for professional dancers from coast to coast, and has helped launch many into successful performance careers,” the company said.

What fans are saying
Fans celebrated the return of Dead Man’s Party on Facebook. “I don’t do any of the scary things at Fright Fest, so I really missed this fun show last year,” commented one fan on the Six Flags Great Adventure Facebook page.
Other fans thanked the park directly for listening, with comments like “FINALLY SO SO HAPPY” and “thank you for listening to us,” stacking up alongside requests for other returning entertainment.
In its blog post, Six Flags framed the 2026 run as both a callback for longtime guests and an introduction for newer ones.
“Over the past 25 years, Dead Man’s Party has become a signature part of the park’s fall entertainment lineup, combining live performance with the spooky atmosphere of Fright Fest,” the company wrote. “Its return in 2026 brings back a familiar Fright Fest tradition for longtime fans while introducing the experience to a new generation of guests.”

Live entertainment as a wider focus
The move fits a broader industry trend. As Attraction Magazine’s Dani Meyering reported earlier this week from the Themed Entertainment Association’s INSPIRE panel, theme park executives named live shows, festivals, and special activations as a growing focus for themed entertainment.
This show’s return comes after Six Flags Entertainment Corporation completed its merger with Cedar Fair in 2024, creating the largest regional amusement park operator in North America, and named John Reilly president and CEO in December 2025. Reilly recently reinstalled park presidents at several properties, with stated plans to raise operational quality and tailor entertainment more closely to local markets.
More information coming soon
Six Flags has not yet announced a performance schedule, ticket pricing for Fright Fest, or the broader 2026 entertainment lineup. The company said additional details, including event dates, will be shared closer to the season.
Six Flags Great Adventure is in Jackson, N.J. The park’s Fright Fest typically runs select nights in September and October.
