‘Sloth World’ in Orlando shuts down social media and repeals website

Following the backlash of the Florida wildlife inspection report and the widespread awareness of thirty-one sloth deaths associated with Sloth World, the yet-to-open attraction has shut down its social media presence.

Sloth World orlando shut down website

This story has been unfolding for about a week, and when an Inside Climate News article was published, awareness began to increase. In the past two days, following the widespread news reports, the public has shared impassioned concern.

The original public relations firm that was previously associated with Sloth World has since discontinued its relationship with the attraction. It would appear that Sloth World no longer has any representation for public relations. Emails from media outlets and sources like Attractions Magazine have gone unanswered.

Website is now a placeholder page

As of April 23, 2026 (today) SlothWorld.com has been wiped of all previous content with a message presented in all capital letters that reads: “PARDON OUR DUST! WE’RE WORKING ON SOMETHING AMAZING — CHECK BACK SOON!”

The page contains minimal branding and limited navigation, along with icons linking to LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. At the time of review, those social media links directed users to blank or inactive accounts with no visible public content.

The current site appears to use a standard WordPress layout and includes a visible Log in button typically associated with website administrator access. No attraction details, ticketing information, opening timeline, animal encounter information, or guest-facing updates were visible on the homepage at the time of review.

No more social media

Linked social media profiles connected from the website currently do not appear to contain active public posts.

This article is based on a public review of the Sloth World Orlando website and linked social media pages at the time of publication. Online content can change at any time.

What happens next?

Sloth World’s opening has been delayed for a few months now. Their website is essentially unusable, and their social media presence is gone, including the previous posts that appeared to be AI-generated. Their location on International Drive in Orlando has been vacant for some time. Previously, an animal attraction named Cool Zoo was meant to occupy a space in this same area, but it never opened.

The Orlando attractions community is reeling from this revelation. Attractions Magazine and other news outlets like ours will be keeping an eye on developments.
