Sorcerer Mickey balloon joining 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Sorcerer Mickey will bring a little Disney magic to the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Disney and Macy’s announced that Mickey Mouse, dressed as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Disney’s “Fantasia,” will debut as a new giant character balloon during the historic parade on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 2026.

The balloon will be revealed Aug. 13 at Downtown Disney District as part of D23 Day at Disneyland Resort. Guests attending the event will be among the first to see the newest addition to the parade lineup.

Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey is the first new balloon announced for the 2026 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year’s procession will be the parade’s 100th march, following its debut in 1924 and a three-year pause during World War II.

The new balloon also continues a Disney tradition dating to 1934, when Mickey Mouse became the first Disney character represented by a balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Alongside the balloon reveal, Macy’s is launching an exclusive Disney capsule collection Aug. 13. The initial assortment will include fashion, accessories and collectible keepsakes inspired by Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey and the parade’s history.

Participating brands include Citizen, Crocs, Hallmark, Loungefly, Super Smalls and Swarovski. The collection will be available through Macy’s Disney shop.

A larger collection arriving later this fall will feature more than 100 products inspired by Disney, Pixar and Marvel characters that have appeared in the parade throughout its history.

The 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place Nov. 26 in New York City, with Sorcerer Mickey ready to cast a new spell in the holiday tradition.
