‘Frozen 3’ D23 display offers new looks for the characters and mysterious clues
Disney is offering a new glimpse at “Frozen 3” from the D23 floor, where displays featuring Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven are joined by an intriguing hint that the next adventure may take the story in an unexpected direction.

Disney is offering an early tease of “Frozen 3” at D23, with new displays featuring Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven — and one intriguing comment suggesting the next adventure may take the characters somewhere unexpected.
During a conversation at D23 on Aug. 13, a filmmaker was asked whether the team traveled to Norway for inspiration while developing “Frozen 3.” The answer was no — but the reason apparently gets into spoiler territory.
“Without giving away too much, I can’t answer that question without spoilers,” the filmmaker said, adding, “There are reasons for that.”

The filmmaker emphasized that research remains an important part of Disney Animation’s process, pointing to research trips to Kenya for “Zootopia,” Colombia for “Encanto” and the Pacific Islands for “Moana.”
That makes the decision not to return to Norway for “Frozen 3” particularly interesting. While it doesn’t necessarily mean Anna and Elsa will leave Arendelle, the comment might raise the possibility that the story could explore a new location or culture.

We’ve been following the tales of Anna and Elsa since “Frozen” and couldn’t believe the brilliance of “Frozen 2,” so will “Frozen 3” live up to the legacy?
New “Frozen 3” imagery on display
The D23 floor also provides a closer look at imagery connected with the upcoming movie.
One display features Anna and Elsa in new outfits against an aurora-filled landscape. Another shows Kristoff, Olaf and Sven dressed for what appears to be a more formal occasion.
The setting behind the trio is especially intriguing. The tall, pointed architecture and ceremonial-looking setting could resemble a church or chapel, although Disney has not identified the location or explained what is happening in the scene.

Another large piece of “Frozen 3” artwork depicts the characters traveling beneath a dramatic aurora, further teasing the scope of their next journey.
