Both Universal Orlando Resort theme parks reach capacity before 9 a.m.

December is always one of the busiest times in Orlando for the theme parks. That fact was very apparent today when both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure were closed for capacity before 9 a.m. Due to social distancing measures, all the major parks in Florida have followed CDC guidelines to limit visitors, which has reduced capacity to less than half for most locations.

Theme park face mask requirements not likely to end soon; What a vaccine could mean for visitors

As people across the world hope for a COVID-19 vaccine to be ready and distributed as soon as possible, what could that mean in terms of the changes we’ve seen in the theme parks so far? Will guests and employees still be required to wear masks? Will plexiglass still separate you from the row in front on your ride vehicle? Will your party still need to stand on a sticker six feet away from another party? The short answer? No one knows yet – or has announced plans for these circumstances.

‘Festival of the Lion King’ theater emptied for Pandora ride queue

“Festival of the Lion King,” a beloved fan-favorite show, did not re-open when Disney’s Animal Kingdom did back in July. The building was presumed to have been in a state of limbo, waiting for the show to begin again. Instead, it appears that the show building has been emptied to be temporarily used as a ride queue for Avatar Flight of Passage.
