Both Universal Orlando Resort theme parks reach capacity before 9 a.m.

December is always one of the busiest times in Orlando for the theme parks. That fact was very apparent today when both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure were closed for capacity before 9 a.m. Due to social distancing measures, all the major parks in Florida have followed CDC guidelines to limit visitors, which has reduced capacity to less than half for most locations.

Movie Review: ‘The Croods 2: A New Age’ is a prehistorically good time

“The Croods 2: A New Age” will hit theaters on Nov. 25. Starting off in the very beginning, this sequel delves into what happened with Guy’s (Ryan Reynolds) parents. As stated in the first “Croods” movie back in 2013, Guy’s parents were engulfed by tar. During their final moments, they tell Guy to search for Tomorrow, a better, less dangerous place.

Properties that most likely won’t return to Halloween Horror Nights – DePaoli on DeParks

As a kid, I always thought that if an attraction was in a Universal Studios theme park, that meant it was a Universal film. As I grew older, I started to recognize that isn’t the case, and that a lot of the time, intellectual properties are licensed in order to use certain characters in the parks. A great example is “Beetlejuice.” For a long time, I thought this was a Universal character since he was featured so much in the park. I was surprised to find out that that film was distributed by Warner Bros. It was equally as confusing at a younger age with everything at Disney-MGM Studios.

A Horror Nights missed opportunity with ‘Treehouse of Horror’ – DePaoli on DeParks

Right from the top, I’ll admit that I am not the biggest fan of “The Simpsons.” I haven’t seen very many episodes and I simply was never enthralled by it the way so many are. But it always seemed like a no-brainer to me that “The Simpsons” could have (and should have) been a part of Halloween Horror Nights in the Universal Studios theme parks. But now, it’s probably too late and this opportunity has been missed.

Why Universal Studios is a perfect (and somewhat ironic) fit for Nintendo – DePaoli on DeParks

One new theme park land that we’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about for quite some time is the new Super Nintendo World heading to Universal Studios Japan (and beyond). Although the opening has been delayed due to the pandemic, it hasn’t stopped the excitement among fans. Nintendo is a major brand for the Universal theme parks, but is it a good fit? If you look at the history between Universal Studios and Nintendo, it actually works out pretty nicely.

We wore a mask all day in the hot sun at a theme park; Here’s our experience and advice

Yesterday was the first time the Universal Orlando Resort theme parks re-opened to the public. I went with a friend, to enjoy the parks from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Universal Orlando, along with many other locations in Florida, require guests to wear face coverings in the parks. While many of us have worn a mask in a grocery store for about 30 minutes, this endeavor was entirely different. And, somewhat more difficult than I originally anticipated. Here’s what we experienced wearing masks for almost 12 hours with the temperatures in the 90s most of the day.

Universal Orlando theme parks officially reopen – Here’s what we experienced

Today, the Universal Orlando Resort theme parks fully opened to all. Universal is the first of Orlando’s big three to embark on these socially-distant and lower capacity openings. We went from park open to park close to truly feel what its like to have fun in the new theme park normal. Spoiler, it was one of the best days we have ever had at the Universal parks.
