The Tom+Chee restaurant located near Disney Springs at Crossroads of Lake Buena Vista has closed its doors indefinitely.

Orlando’s own Tom+Chee has closed indefinitely.

The restaurant, which offers a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soups with a twist, announced their closure on Facebook today, Jan. 21, to the sad reactions of many.

This closure comes as the result of Crossroads shutting down entirely to make way for an expansion of Interstate 4, with construction set to begin in 2020. All shopping and dining locations in the plaza were told that they must close back in April of 2018.

Sadly, Tom+Chee’s closing means that there are no longer any operating locations in Orlando, let alone the state of Florida as a whole, according to their website. There is no word on if this location will reopen elsewhere after the I-4 expansion.

We will miss the Grilled Cheese Donuts, but until we can have one again, check out this throwback episode of “The Attractions Show” that we filmed at the former Tom+Chee location:

A sign on the door shows closure due to a tax lien, so the Crossroads closure is not the whole story.
