‘Toy Story 5’ boosted Disney theme park visitation, company says
Pixar’s blockbuster did more than fill theater seats. According to The Walt Disney Company, “Toy Story 5” also helped bring guests through the gates of its theme parks.

“Toy Story 5” has surpassed $1 billion at the global box office. The company cited the film’s success across multiple parts of its business in its third-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings report, crediting “Toy Story 5″ with contributing to consumer products sales, Disney+ engagement, and theme park visitation. The rare acknowledgement underscores the lasting value of Disney’s biggest franchises beyond the box office.
Disney highlights Toy Story 5 across multiple businesses
In its quarterly shareholder report, Disney pointed to “Toy Story 5” as a standout performer that extended its impact well beyond theatrical release. Disney rarely highlights a single film as influencing multiple parts of its business, making the company’s comments about “Toy Story 5” particularly noteworthy.
Disney also shared a new infographic illustrating the franchise’s global reach, estimating that the entire Toy Story franchise has surpassed $4 billion in worldwide box office revenue, generated more than 2 billion streaming hours, and drives more than $1 billion in annual global retail sales—further explaining why the company continues to see the Pixar series resonate across its businesses.

The company said the film supported growth in consumer products, increased engagement on Disney+, and helped drive theme park visitation during the quarter. Consumer Products posted its strongest year-over-year revenue growth in 20 quarters, helped by Toy Story merchandise sales.
Disney did not break out attendance figures tied specifically to “Toy Story 5,” though it identified the Pixar sequel as one of the factors contributing to guest visits.
That broad reach reflects Disney’s long-standing strategy of developing franchises that connect films, streaming, merchandise, and destination experiences.

Beyond movie theaters
Few Disney brands have a stronger presence inside the parks than Toy Story.
Guests can step into Andy’s backyard in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, meet Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie across Disney parks worldwide, shop extensive merchandise collections, and experience attractions inspired by the beloved Pixar characters.
Disney recently refreshed Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom, introducing new ride vehicles, interactive targets, and upgraded blasters. Also at Magic Kingdom, through Sept. 6, ‘Jessie’s Roundup’ gives guests a chance to dance and play along with Jessie and friends, inside the Diamond Horseshoe.

Disney’s latest comments suggest the release of “Toy Story 5” translated into renewed interest across that broader ecosystem, with the company identifying theme parks as one beneficiary of the film’s popularity.
Strong quarter for Disney Experiences
The comments came as Disney Experiences reported another strong quarter.
Domestic theme park attendance increased 3%, domestic guest spending rose 4%, and the Experiences segment generated nearly $10 billion in revenue with operating income increasing 20%.
Although Disney did not quantify how much of that performance came from “Toy Story 5,” the company singled out the film as a contributor to visitation, illustrating how one successful franchise can influence multiple parts of The Walt Disney Company at the same time, a feature that Disney likes to tout quite a bit these days. Disney’s latest earnings show that for Woody, Buzz, and the gang, there is no sign of slowing down.
