Toy Story 5 brings back the glory days of cereal box prizes
A new Kellogg’s promotion tied to Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 5” is bringing toys back inside cereal boxes, reviving one of the most nostalgic traditions in the breakfast aisle.

According to reports, specially marked boxes of select Kellogg’s cereals will begin arriving on shelves nationwide starting April 26. Inside, fans can find playable mini toys that double as spoons inspired by “Toy Story 5,” giving families a reason to dig through the cereal box for more than just breakfast.
The promotion will reportedly appear in eight Kellogg’s cereals:
- Froot Loops
- Frosted Flakes
- Corn Pops
- Apple Jacks
- Frosted Mini-Wheats
- Rice Krispies
- Corn Flakes
- Cocoa Loops
For many fans, this may be the most exciting part of the announcement. In-box prizes were once everywhere, from stickers and decoder rings to mini games and plastic figures, before gradually disappearing from store shelves. Bringing them back with one of Disney and Pixar’s biggest upcoming releases is a direct hit of millennial nostalgia.

And yes, reactions online have already started. Some fans think the toys are adorable throwbacks, while others say the stylized faces make them just a little creepy. You see, to turn your toy into a spoon, you remove the head of the toy.

A quote being attributed to Laura Newman, VP of brand marketing at WK Kellogg Co. is said to have come from a press release, “At Kellogg’s, there’s a real sense of childhood nostalgia tied to the moments families remember most — and breakfast is a big part of that. Bringing toys back inside the box reintroduces that sense of discovery through a simple, screen-free moment of play that parents can now share with their own kids.”
Kellogg’s has not published an official news release about these new cereal toys. We have added these new toys to our Toy Story 5 Reveal Roundup Week coverage and will keep an eye out for any official updates from Kellogg’s.
