Oriental Land Company has announced that a new, affordable Disney hotel themed to the “Toy Story” films is being developed for Tokyo Disney Resort.
This 600-room hotel is expected to open in fiscal year 2021, and will transport guests into a world where everything is made of toys. The guest rooms are inspired by Andy’s bedroom, where Woody, Buzz Lightyear and all the other toys live – all designed with colorful, fun furniture and other immersive features inspired by “Toy Story.”
The backstory for the hotel tells of Andy, who created a structure in his backyard to house all of his toys. When he’s called away by his mom, the toys take over the “toy” tower and open it as a hotel for all the honorary toys of the world.
The hotel’s guest rooms will be of standard type, and its amenities will include a restaurant and gift shop, giving guests a casual resort stay at a reasonable price.
Oriental Land Company is working on opening new areas at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in 2020 and 2022, respectively. With the opening of this new Toy Story hotel, it will be easier for Tokyo Disney Resort to meet the needs of guests with these new expansions.
