Universal’s new Texas theme park is called Universal Kids Resort
It’s official! Universal Destinations & Experiences has revealed its first-ever theme park designed especially for families with young children is called Universal Kids Resort.

Initially announced in January 2023, Universal’s new kid-friendly resort in Frisco, Tex., will gear the brand’s innovative storytelling to engage a young audience with immersive themed lands featuring beloved characters and stories, family-friendly attractions, interactive shows, unique merchandise, and fun food and beverage options. Universal Kids Resort will also include a 300-room themed hotel.
“Universal Kids Resort will inspire the unbridled creativity of kids through imagination, discovery, and most importantly – play,” said Molly Murphy, President of Universal Creative. “We’re designing the resort so kids and families can feel the thrill of being physically immersed in their most beloved stories and characters.”

Construction on Universal Kids Resort is already underway following a groundbreaking in November. Although there have been no official announcements, concept artwork leads us to believe we may see areas themed to “Trolls” and “Shrek.” Some eagle-eyed fans on X (formally Twitter) also noticed a building that looks like the Krusty Krab restaurant from “SpongeBob.” Stay tuned for additional details.
Another “first-ever” for Universal is Universal Horror Unleashed, a year-round interactive Halloween experience coming to Las Vegas.
