Concert tour, restaurant, new Lego set announced during ‘The Legend of Zelda’ 40th Anniversary Direct
Nintendo marked the 40th anniversary of “The Legend of Zelda” with announcements extending far beyond video games, including an international concert tour, a new Nintendo Museum restaurant, collectibles from Lego and Hasbro, and an update on the franchise’s live-action movie.

The approximately 30-minute “The Legend of Zelda” 40th Anniversary Direct aired Sept. 8. Series producer Eiji Aonuma also presented an extensive look at Nintendo’s remake of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time,” which arrives exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov. 5, 2026.
The biggest announcements from the Nintendo presentation
Zelda concert tour begins in January
“The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Concert” begins Jan. 23, 2027, at Tokyo Garden Theater.
The initial Japan schedule includes:
- Jan. 23 — Tokyo Garden Theater, Tokyo
- Feb. 6 — Fukuoka Civic Hall, Fukuoka
- March 3 — Sapporo Cultural Arts Theater Hitaru, Hokkaido
- April 3 and 4 — ROHM Theatre Kyoto, Kyoto
- April 27 — K-Arena Yokohama, Kanagawa
The North American tour begins Feb. 22 in Chicago. The European leg launches April 3 in London, followed by Australia on May 13 in Melbourne.

Additional cities and countries will be announced. Ticket sales begin later in September, with the exact on-sale date varying by venue. The production follows “The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses,” which toured internationally from 2012 through 2017.
Super Family Restaurant coming to Nintendo Museum
Nintendo offered another look at Super Family Restaurant, a new dining experience opening at Nintendo Museum in Uji, Kyoto, in fall 2026.

The interior combines understated dining-room design with Nintendo displays and decorative references. Images show Link from “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” the Master Sword and Samus’ Power Suit from “Metroid.” Windows are decorated with clouds from the “Super Mario” games, while a small brick turret is topped by Mario’s red flag, perhaps similar to Toadstool Cafe at Epic Universe, as well as Universal Studios Japan and Hollywood.
Nintendo says the restaurant will serve a variety of food and desserts. A complete menu and exact opening date have not been announced.
Super Family Restaurant was first announced in June and will join Hatena Burger, the museum’s existing café where visitors can customize their own hamburgers. Both dining locations are inside Nintendo Museum and are available only to museum ticket holders.
The museum is currently accepting reservations for visits through December 2026.
Lego reveals Link and Epona set
Lego is expanding its “The Legend of Zelda” collection with a new set based on Link and Epona from “Ocarina of Time.”
The display recreates the hero and his horse in Lego form with recognizable equipment from the game. Nintendo did not announce the price, piece count, release date or ordering information during the presentation.

The set follows Lego’s Great Deku Tree model and “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle,” which was released March 1, 2026. The Final Battle set retails for $129.99.
Hasbro reveals figures and electronic Master Sword
Hasbro is introducing a new collection featuring Princess Zelda, Link and Ganondorf with character-specific weapons and accessories. The initial images suggest highly detailed figures with posable arms and legs.
Hasbro’s “Heroes of Hyrule” collection is already available for preorder. The 6-inch Link and Princess Zelda figures cost $27.99 each, while the larger, 7.5-inch Ganondorf figure costs $42.99. The figures are expected to begin shipping in spring 2027.

More Zelda collectibles announced
Nintendo previewed two metal puzzles from Hanayama’s Huzzle collection.
“The Legend of Zelda Masterpiece Color Edition Huzzle” includes colored versions of the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. The “Premium Gold Edition Huzzle” presents both items with gold-colored finishes.
New amiibo figures of Young Link and Young Zelda will arrive in 2027. Nintendo showed how the figures’ character designs correspond with the updated versions appearing in the “Ocarina of Time” remake.
A limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 console will also be released Oct. 29, 2026. “The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition” features green controllers, gold triangular patterns and franchise imagery across the console and dock. The game is sold separately.

‘Ocarina of Time’ remake responds to voices and instruments
“The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov. 5, 2026.
Series producer Eiji Aonuma demonstrated the remake’s redesigned Link, expanded dialogue and Conversation Log. Nintendo also showed a tapestry that fills with imagery as players complete parts of the adventure, creating a visual record of their progress.
The game’s audio-input system allows players to perform its melodies with their voices or musical instruments. Nintendo will sell a physical ocarina through the Nintendo Store for players who want to perform the songs on an actual instrument.
Nintendo first announced the remake in June 2026. The new version updates the landmark 1998 Nintendo 64 adventure with modern visuals and gameplay features. Nintendo’s original announcement described it as being “reborn” for Switch 2.
Live-action Zelda movie arrives in 2027
Nintendo also revealed the official logo for its live-action “The Legend of Zelda” movie, which opens exclusively in theaters April 30, 2027. This movie was announced in 2023.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth stars as Link alongside Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda. Wes Ball is directing the adaptation for Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Nintendo said members of the Zelda development team are involved in the film’s artistic development. The Triforce was also mentioned during the presentation, although additional story details were not revealed.
No Zelda theme park attraction announced
Despite fan hopes that the anniversary celebration could bring Zelda into Universal’s theme parks, the Direct contained no land, ride or other theme park announcement.
Super Nintendo World currently focuses on “Super Mario” and “Donkey Kong,” leaving Zelda as one of Nintendo’s largest franchises without a permanent theme park presence.

For now, the anniversary concert and Nintendo Museum restaurant are the closest additions for fans seeking an experience beyond games, movies and merchandise.
