It’s a throwback to childhood at the Hot Wheels Ultimate Drive-Thru, where larger-than-life Hot Wheels monster trucks, specialty monster trucks, Garage of Legends vehicles, robots, and more from the classic toy collection are brought to life right outside your car windows.
A major leap in progress has begun at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park as the Jurassic World Velocicoaster is now periodically doing test runs. This upcoming coaster will be one of the most impressive in Universal’s portfolio. Two launches, numerous inversions, and a 100 foot zero-gravity inverted stall are just some of its impressive feats.
Thanks to Florida’s very transparent permitting websites, plans for a Legoland Florida park expansion have leaked. Project “Venus” appears to move this new area of the theme park into the parking lot as a redistribution of space.
As people across the world hope for a COVID-19 vaccine to be ready and distributed as soon as possible, what could that mean in terms of the changes we’ve seen in the theme parks so far? Will guests and employees still be required to wear masks? Will plexiglass still separate you from the row in front on your ride vehicle? Will your party still need to stand on a sticker six feet away from another party? The short answer? No one knows yet – or has announced plans for these circumstances.
Construction continues at Epcot for the upcoming Harmonious nighttime fireworks spectacular. Today, the first of five separate barges was placed in the center of World Showcase Lagoon. These massive barges are covered in spotlights, fountains, and LED screens. The Harmonious nighttime spectacular was originally supposed to debut in 2020, but is now backed up to 2021.
On Dec. 31, Las Vegas enthusiasts can bid goodbye to the worst year ever online with a livestream countdown featuring a live DJ and epic sights, replacing the city’s usual New Year’s celebrations. Visitors to the livestream event can submit what they’re looking forward to the most in 2021 for a chance to win trips to the destination in the new year.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was awesome in the truest sense of the word. Even if you weren’t a particular fan of what some may consider over-the-top tackiness, I’m sure you would still be in awe at the scale of this enormous holiday light display. Sadly, we all had to say goodbye to it back in 2015 to make way for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. But what if the lights were brought back to the Disney Parks in a different location? Where might they be displayed?
