Minecraft World Hotel will bring Creepers, TNT and more into guest rooms
Minecraft fans will be able to sleep, eat and explore inside the game’s block-filled world when a new Minecraft-themed hotel opens in the United Kingdom. Minecraft LIVE on Sept. 26 revealed new concept art for the hotel, including family guest rooms, an elaborate Minecraft lobby and an underwater-themed restaurant called Deep Sea Diner.
The hotel will be part of Minecraft World, the new land under construction at Chessington World of Adventures and scheduled to open in 2027. While the larger project and its accommodations were previously announced, the Minecraft LIVE presentation provided a much closer look at how the game could be translated into an overnight experience.
Work-in-progress designs showed several different guest-room configurations filled with recognizable Minecraft details, from Creeper imagery and TNT-inspired accents to block-built furnishings.
The presentation also revealed concepts for the hotel’s public spaces and Deep Sea Diner, where the proposed design surrounds diners with an underwater Minecraft environment.
Minecraft hotel rooms appear designed with families in mind
The work-in-progress guest room concepts show at least two possible layouts, including a room with a larger bed and another with a dedicated bunk-bed area for children. Minecraft details extend throughout the designs, with Creeper and TNT-inspired pillows, block-style finishes and scenes from the game incorporated into the walls.
The family setup bears some resemblance to the approach used at Legoland Hotel and Legoland Pirate Island Hotel, which are also operated by Merlin Entertainments. At these established hotels, rooms pair an adult sleeping area with a separate children’s area featuring bunk and trundle beds, while Pirate Island Hotel follows a similar family-focused configuration.
Merlin is developing Minecraft World with Mojang Studios, although neither company has said the Minecraft hotel rooms will follow the same operating model as its Legoland hotels.
For now, the concepts suggest a similar emphasis on giving children their own highly themed space while keeping accommodations practical for the entire family.
When Minecraft World opens in 2027, fans can finally sleep inside the Overworld.
