Mystic Fountain at Islands of Adventure expected to close soon
A longtime fan-favorite interactive element inside The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure may soon fall silent. Recent social media posts indicate that The Mystic Fountain may be closing soon.

According to posts circulating in Universal Orlando Annual Passholder groups, the Mystic Fountain’s final day could be May 15. There are also social media posts from staff circulating around, too. Universal Orlando has not yet officially confirmed the closure. Attractions Magazine has reached out for confirmation.
While unconfirmed for now, the reported closure would not come as a surprise given the ongoing transformation and phased disappearance of The Lost Continent.
Much of the original land has already changed over the years, and fans recently reacted emotionally to news surrounding the closure of Mythos Restaurant and what it represents as one of the last major pieces of Islands of Adventure’s original vision.

A small attraction that became a major tradition
The Mystic Fountain became just as essential as any attraction in the park for many visitors. The interactive fountain famously talked with guests, sprayed unsuspecting visitors with water, and became a ritual stop for families visiting Islands of Adventure over multiple decades.
For many longtime Universal Orlando fans, the experience became deeply personal. I have fond memories of talking with the Mystic Fountain across decades of visits to the park, and later getting to pass that tradition on to my own son.

For charity
The fountain also quietly supported a charitable tradition familiar to many Orlando theme park guests. Coins tossed into the Mystic Fountain are donated to Give Kids The World Village, continuing a practice shared by the vast majority of decorative fountains across Orlando theme parks.
If the Mystic Fountain is indeed preparing to close, it would mark another emotional farewell to one of the last remaining symbols of Islands of Adventure’s opening-day identity.
