Getting exactly what you wished for can be frightening enough — now imagine your seat joining in. Regal lists “the film”Obsession” for 4DX screenings on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, as part of its Halloween programming. Tickets are available now.

Written and directed by Curry Barker, “Obsession” opened in U.S. theaters on May 15. The movie follows a man who uses a mysterious object called the One Wish Willow to make his crush fall in love with him. His wish works, but the relationship takes a sinister turn.

The 4DX presentation adds a theme park-like element to a night at the movies, with physical effects synchronized to the action onscreen.

Regal’s 4DX auditoriums use motion-enabled seats and environmental effects that can include wind, water, fog, flashing lights and scents. The combination brings some of the sensations associated with a simulator attraction into a full-length movie screening. The specific effects programmed for “Obsession” have not been detailed in the listings reviewed for this article.

For horror moviegoers, the format offers another way to experience the tension: the action can extend beyond the screen through seat movement and effects throughout the auditorium.

Tickets and participating locations can be found through Regal’s “4DX: Obsession” listing. Check your theater for available showtimes and pricing.

Curry Barker joins Regal’s Halloween lineup

The screening accompanies Regal’s “31 Screams on Screen” series, which brings horror favorites back to theaters throughout October.

Curry Barker joins filmmakers James Wan and Nia DaCosta as guest curators for the series. His selections include “Poltergeist” on Oct. 5, the original “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” on Oct. 13, “A Nightmare on Elm Street” on Oct. 18 and the director’s cut of “Midsommar” on Oct. 23.

The Oct. 14 schedule also includes “Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.” That film appears separately from the premium “Obsession” presentation, so check the individual listings when booking.

For anyone whose Halloween plans already include haunted houses and horror movie marathons, “Obsession” in 4DX offers another way to put a little motion into the scares.
