Peanuts license at Six Flags parks extended through 2030

Six Flags extended its license agreement with Peanuts Worldwide for five more years, ensuring Peanuts characters such as Snoopy and Charlie Brown will continue to be part of Six Flags parks through at least the end of 2030.

The agreement previously expired at the end of 2025. The new licensing agreement is valid through Dec. 31, 2030. Six Flags announced the Peanuts license renewal news on Sept. 10, 2025.

Peanuts characters are currently represented in 11 Six Flags parks (out of the company’s total portfolio of 56 parks). All of the parks with Peanuts attractions were formerly Cedar Fair parks prior to that company’s merge with Six Flags in 2024:

  • California’s Great America in Santa Clara, Calif.
  • Canada’s Wonderland in Ontario, Canada
  • Carowinds in Charlotte, N.C.
  • Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio
  • Dorney Park in Allentown, Penn.
  • Kings Dominion in Doswell, Va.
  • Kings Island in Mason, Ohio
  • Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif.
  • Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, Mich.
  • Valley Fair in Shakopee, Minn.
  • Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo.

As part of the Peanuts license at Six Flags parks, Camp Snoopy is a signature land at many of the destinations, with family-friendly rides themed to the Peanuts gang enjoying a serene summer camp together. At Carowinds, Camp Snoopy opened a new roller coaster and a water raft battle ride in 2025. Other parks have Planet Snoopy; same characters, more broad theme.

Legacy Six Flags parks retain attractions themed to “Looney Tunes” and the super heroes of DC Comics.

Prior to the Peanuts license, Six Flags parks/former Cedar Fair parks (and even before that, former Paramount parks) featured attractions themed to Nickelodeon series and Hanna-Barbera characters. Many of the existing Snoopy rides have been themed to all three franchises over the years.

“We are proud to extend our long-standing partnership with Peanuts, which has delivered so many fun and cherished memories to our guests,” said Christian Dieckmann, Six Flags chief commercial officer. “Both of our brands are built on bringing families together and creating one-of-a-kind experiences and emotional connections.”

“It’s been exciting to see how the legacy Cedar Fair parks have introduced our beloved Peanuts characters to new generations of kids over the years, and this renewed partnership with Six Flags will ensure we expand those connections in authentic and meaningful ways,” said Tim Erickson, executive VP for Peanuts Worldwide, upon the Peanuts license renewal with Six Flags.

This year, a handful of Six Flags parks hosted DC Heroes and Villains Fest, a multi-hour theatrical experience materializing within park midways.

The CEO of Six Flags will step down by the end of 2025, as announced in August.
