Will Six Ravens Disney Springs be the next cult favorite? Here’s an early look

Will Six Ravens Disney Springs live up to the hype? The Gideon’s Bakehouse team is back with a savory spin, including a medieval Coffyn menu, craft drink pairings and spooky lore.

When Gideon’s Bakehouse first opened at Disney Springs in December 2020, it was a genuine surprise. This small, locally owned, gothic-themed bakery with serious craft ambitions somehow “out-immersed” half the restaurants at Walt Disney World.

Now, on the fifth anniversary of that opening, the team announced it is swinging big again. Six Ravens, their new savory concept, arrives this summer in the former Art of Shaving space at The Landing.

The question isn’t whether it’ll generate buzz. With the Gideon’s Bakehouse name attached, that’s a given. The real question is whether it’s worth prioritizing.  Should this place be a priority during your next Walt Disney World visit? Will it be worth the wait for your group?

What Is Six Ravens at Disney Springs?

Six Ravens isn’t a third Gideon’s Bakehouse location (the original is at East End Market, not far from downtown Orlando). According to Walt Disney World’s official listing, it’s a fully realized new concept with its own identity, themed menu and cast of collaborators. Guests can think of it as the “savory story counterpart” to the bakery’s sugar-and-spice world.

Menu highlights

At its core, Six Ravens Disney Springs specializes in something called a Coffyn. For the record, the spelling is intentional. The name is borrowed from the original medieval term for a pastry: a house-made yeast roll that fully encloses savory fillings, historically designed to preserve hearty meals during long pilgrimages.

The Coffyn’s fillings were developed in collaboration with Central Florida chefs and local restaurant partners, continuing the community-minded spirit that Gideon’s Bakehouse owner Steve Lewis has consistently championed.

Beyond the signature Coffyns, the menu also includes smashed potatoes served with dipping sauces (sweet heat and homemade honey mustard), dessert tarts, root beer on tap, and local drafts crafted with Orlando partners, including Sideward Brewing and The Ravenous Pig.

Decor and design

The theming for Six Ravens Disney Springs has been described as dark and gothic, maintaining aesthetic continuity with Gideon’s Bakehouse. Of course, Six Ravens will carve its own identity too.

Art Director Michael Reyes is leading the visual identity, and the lore centers on a mysterious, cloaked woman who can transform into a raven. This character can be found in Gideon’s Bakehouse lore in collector cards starting in November 2023.

Additionally, the name Six Ravens is inspired by the legendary ravens of the Tower of London. According to a famous historical superstition, at least six ravens must remain at the fortress at all times. If they ever leave, the crown and the Tower of London will fall. Today, a dedicated official known as the Ravenmaster cares for these highly intelligent birds.

Visitors from around the world gather to watch them explore the grassy lawns. Each raven has a distinct personality and is given a colored identification band. These majestic ravens remain a living, breathing symbol of British history, blending ancient myth with the modern identity of the royal palace. Six Ravens Disney Springs will play into this legend.

A local favorite becomes a Disney Springs icon

To understand Six Ravens, you have to understand what Gideon’s Bakehouse has already accomplished. When the bakery opened at Disney Springs, it was one of the most atmospherically ambitious dining locations in all of Walt Disney World.

The exterior, weathered brickwork, wrought-iron accents, stone gargoyles, and flickering lanterns start the theming process. However, inside Gideon’s Bakehouse, guests experience a theme that is part-horror, part-classic bookstore. Guests have called it a “Tim Burton meets vintage apothecary” aesthetic.

The lore is woven into the merchandise, the staff’s language and even the collector cards. Gideon’s Bakehouse has become a community and culture all of its own. It’s also special because Gideon’s Bakehouse has an original location in a popular Orlando neighborhood, which still operates today.

Six Ravens inherits all of that goodwill. Steve Lewis, the owner and “sublime prince of the esoteric order of cookie,” built something rare with Gideon’s Bakehouse.

Worth the hype?

Like anything new, this business venture possesses many risks. Sure, the current local Gideon’s Bakehouse fans will be drawn to Six Ravens when it opens in Summer 2026. We have been at Gideon’s Bakehouse at “rope-drop” to join a crowd of people to purchase the latest merchandise or limited-time offerings.

Still, people walk by the extended queue outside Gideon’s Bakehouse, saying that they cannot believe people wait that long for a cookie. Nonetheless, the core Gideon’s Bakehouse community members shrug off those comments.

In contrast, Six Ravens has a more complex proposition. It’s asking guests to try a new format (hand pies), trust a medieval concept name (Coffyns), and add it to a Disney Springs visit that already has plenty of competition. That’s a harder sell, even from a trusted team.

The atmosphere

The Six Ravens Disney Springs building is small. It’s moving into the former Art of Shaving space, a compact retail footprint. This means a less spacious kitchen and not much space for guests to move around.

Gideon’s Bakehouse isn’t large either, yet it created one of the most memorable interior experiences at Disney Springs. The team clearly knows how to maximize a small footprint with elements like tilting bookshelves, flickering Victorian lanterns, spirit portraits, and dim red lighting. If Six Ravens’ art direction receives even half that level of care, the space will pull its weight.

The food concept is understandable. The lore foundation is there. The team’s track record warrants trust. However, it might be the one thing that will determine whether Six Ravens becomes a destination or just another snack stop.

Value and pricing: What should you budget?

No pricing has been officially published as of this writing, so any number we provide would be speculative. However, context helps. Gideon’s Bakehouse charges around $7 per half-pound cookie and $11 per slice of cake. Those prices are considered fair given the portion size and craft quality.

Based on the limited-time hand pies sold periodically at Gideon’s Bakehouse, guests can speculate that the Coffyns will cost around $9- $14. The price should vary depending on the fillings. That price point should be competitive with comparable grab-and-go options at Disney Springs.

Local craft brews will likely run $8–13 per pour. A Coffyn, a drink, and some smashed potatoes could realistically cost around $25–35 before tax for one person.

We do not anticipate Six Ravens being a part of the Disney Dining Plan. This means guests with pre-paid credits will not be able to use them at Six Ravens. Of course, the lack of Disney Dining Plan participation does not seem to hinder Gideon’s Bakehouse.

How does Six Ravens compare to other Disney Springs dining locations?

Disney Springs offers so many places to eat and drink. Six Ravens is entering a field with some strong competition. How does Six Ravens match up against comparable places?

The Edison

This steampunk-industrial speakeasy offers a serious bar program and some late-night entertainment. Sure, it is sit-down dining with a higher price point. However, it will be only a few steps away from the Six Ravens location. The Edison works as more of a full-evening destination. Six Ravens is the casual gothic alternative for those who want a dark atmosphere without committing to a table.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar

Just a short walk away from Six Ravens Disney Springs, guests can find the Indiana Jones-themed lounge, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. It offers strong theming, genuine Indiana Jones decoration, and a relaxed indoor/outdoor atmosphere. It skews more heavily toward drinks than toward food. Also, it is not “speedy” service and lacks a true grab-and-go option.

Pizza Ponte

In the quick-service landscape at Disney Springs, Six Ravens and Pizza Ponte offer distinct approaches to fast, casual dining, each targeting a different type of theme park guest.

Pizza Ponte has established itself as a reliable staple at Disney Springs by serving familiar, universally loved Italian comfort food. Operating with a high-capacity, assembly-line counter service, it efficiently dishes out massive Sicilian square slices, panini, and espresso. It’s a budget-friendly meal without any surprises. Yes, you can purchase an adult beverage at Pizza Ponte to go with your food.

Will Six Ravens be able to provide hungry Disney Springs guests with the “Coffyns” quickly enough compared to Pizza Ponte? That query cannot be answered until we see Six Ravens in operation for a little while.

Can Six Ravens Disney Springs become a cult favorite?

Gideon’s Bakehouse didn’t become a cult favorite because Walt Disney World made it one. It became a cult favorite because Steve Lewis built something obsessively good and then let the community find it. Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs (and the East End Orlando location) hasn’t lost its local touch.

The owner, Steve Lewis, still personally manages social media and responds to comments.

The Coffyn concept’s historical roots are genuinely interesting. Additionally, the collaboration with The Ravenous Pig, one of Orlando’s most respected culinary institutions, signals that Lewis isn’t cutting corners.

Final destination

Six Ravens Disney Springs enters the Walt Disney World dining scene with more momentum than almost any new concept in recent memory. It will be thematic without requiring a reservation, and adult-leaning without being exclusionary.

If Gideon’s Bakehouse team maintains their standards in a savory format, this could be the most significant addition to Disney Springs dining in years. Either way, the hype for this new concept is real.
