Disney’s newest theme park character, Princess Tiana (above right), from the upcoming animated movie, “The Princess and the Frog” (opening Dec. 11, 2009) made her debut yesterday at the 2009 National Association of Black Journalists Convention in Tampa. Also appearing was Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose (above left), who provides the voice for Princess Tiana.

Princess Tiana is expected to make her debut at the Magic Kingdom on Oct. 26, 2009. She’ll be available to meet guests in a special themed area as part of a limited engagement show called “Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee!” The show will also feature other characters from the movie. “Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee!” is described as a rousing, jazz-filled riverboat extravaganza featuring the characters, music and exhuberant spirit of “The Princess and the Frog” – with plenty of Mardi Gras flair.
