Epic Universe Preview Center opening in June at CityWalk
The Universal Epic Universe Preview Center will open in June 2024 at CityWalk, providing a sneak peek into the upcoming theme park.

Universal Epic Universe Preview Center
The Epic Universe Preview Center will include:
- a scale model of the whole park
- augmented reality enhancements to the model (with compatible mobile devices)
- new Epic Universe merchandise collections
- photo-ops themed to the park’s five areas, or “worlds”
Universal CityWalk, the shopping and dining district of Universal Orlando Resort, doesn’t charge admission, so any visiting guest will be able to get a glimpse at Epic Universe.

Universal did not mention a specific opening date for the Preview Center. The company confirmed a Preview Center was on the way earlier this year. Epic Universe itself will open sometime in 2025 (likewise on an unspecified date).
Universal has been busy periodically revealing each world of Epic Universe one by one. So far, the resort has mapped out details for Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Super Nintendo World. Eventually, it will share details for Dark Universe and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

The Epic Universe Preview Center takes the place of the former Universal Legacy Store in CityWalk. That retail location, which closed last January, was a celebration of the history of the company’s classic theme park attractions and movies. Guests looking for vintage-themed Universal merchandise these days will find plenty of it at the newly opened Summer Tribute Store, which debuted last week inside Universal Studios Florida.
A History of the Future
Preview centers for upcoming attractions date back to the first building open to the public on Walt Disney World property in the ’70s. Inside, future guests got a sneak peek of Disney’s transformation of the acres of swampland into a vacation kingdom. The building that housed the Walt Disney World Preview Center, still standing on Hotel Plaza Boulevard near Disney Springs, is now office space for Amateur Athletic Union.

Similarly, guests at Universal Studios Florida in the late ’90s could visit the Islands of Adventure Preview Center to check out details about the theme park being built next door.
More recently, The Epcot Experience provided guests with a glimpse into Epcot’s ongoing transformation, which will be complete when CommuniCore Hall opens June 10, 2024.
